John S. Rubin, M.D., FACS, FRCS
Dr. Rubin is a Consultant Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon at The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital Division of The Royal Free NHS Trust, where he is the Lead Clinician of the Voice Disorders Unit as well as its Clinical Director. He is also a Consultant ENT Surgeon at St. Bartholomews Hospital, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London.
Dr. Rubin trained primarily in America. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire and his M.D. at New York Medical College. He did his Ear Nose and Throat training at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and consulted at Montefiore Medical Center in New York prior to going to England. He is still a Visiting Associate Professor at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
Dr. Rubin’s particular interests lie in voice disorders and laryngeal surgery. He has written extensively, including several books as well as numerous articles and chapters, and regularly lectures on voice-related topics. Dr. Rubin has served in multiple capacities on many international editorial and scientific boards and committees. He is the immediate Past-President of the British Voice Association (2003-2004 term).
