Overview

Parents of children with an autism spectrum disorder want to be proactive, not just reactive. This book is a collection of practical, real world information and insights to help parents do just that, plan for their child’s needs. The book combines current research and literature reviews with the experiences gleaned by the author as she has worked with families impacted by ASD for the past fifteen years. Nothing is more disheartening for a parent to read research without knowing what an expert’s opinion of that research might be. Most books address school needs, but parents want to know how they can make their home lives most functional and this book provides that information down to how to arrange rooms in the home for the most positive outcomes. About The Author

Lynn Adams, Ph.D.

Lynn Adams Ph.D. is currently an autism and behavior consultant for a school system in coastal Georigia. She holds an adjunct teaching appointment at Armstrong Atlantic State University. She worked as a university professor for 15 years in Missorui and Virginia and founded the Radford University Autism Center. She worked in a public school setting, and a developmental evaluation center. She received her doctorate from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and her MS and BS from The Florida State University, Tallahassee.

Dr. Adams is active in both the state and national professional associations. She is a Fellow of the Speech-Language -Hearing Association of Virginia, serving that association as President and Legislative Councilor to ASHA.
