Deborah Ross-Swain, EdD, CCC-SLP
Deborah Ross-Swain, EdD, CCC-SLP, is the founder, owner, and clinical director of The Swain Center for Listening, Communicating and Learning. Dr. Swain is the immediate past-president of the California Speech-Language and Hearing Association (CSHA) and served on the CSHA Board of Directors for 10 years. Dr. Swain is the former Chief of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of California, Davis Medical Center and held a clinical staff faculty appointment to the School of Medicine. Dr. Swain is the past president of California Speech Pathologists and Audiologists in Private Practice (CALSPAPP), served on the CSHA Task Force for developing Guidelines for (Central) Auditory Processing Disorders and Encroachment, and chairs the CSHA Task Force for the Early Intervention Initiative as well as the International Collaboration initiative. Dr. Swain has received awards from CSHA for outstanding service and outstanding achievement and was awarded Outstanding Alumni in 2016 from California State University, Sacramento. She served as a California delegate to the Legislative Council for the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and the ASHA Advisory Board.
