Alternate Format Requests

Plural Publishing, Inc. is committed to supporting accessibility and ensuring all learners have equal access to our educational materials. If a student or instructor has a documented disability that prevents them from using our print books, requests for alternate formats must be submitted by the institution’s Disability Services Coordinator or another authorized school official. Files will be provided only to these representatives and not directly to students or instructors.

To request an accessible version of a Plural Publishing, Inc. title, please complete the form below and upload proof of purchase of the printed book. Requests submitted without a valid receipt will not be processed. All requests are subject to review and approval by Plural Publishing, Inc. and may require additional documentation before approval.  

Before submitting your request, please note:

  • Requests may take 1–2 weeks to process.
  • The requested book must be adopted for classroom/course use.
  • The student must be registered for the course in which the title is required.
  • The student or instructor must have a documented disability verified by the institution’s Disability Services Office that prevents them from using the standard format.
  • Only PDF files are available at this time. If permission to scan or reproduce a publication is needed, please indicate that in the form.
  • Access instructions for the PDF will be provided once your request is reviewed and approved.

Terms & Conditions
Authorized Use: Access to the alternate format is strictly limited to the individual student(s) or instructor(s) with a verified disability that materially impairs their ability to use the standard format of the publication. The alternate format is provided exclusively for the personal academic use of the eligible individual as identified in this request.
Course Adoption Requirement: The requested title must be officially adopted for classroom instruction, and the eligible student must be actively enrolled in the course requiring use of the title at the time of the request.
Proof of Purchase: A valid and verifiable receipt confirming the purchase of the printed edition of the requested title must be submitted with the request. No rights shall be granted, and no files shall be released, until such receipt is received and reviewed by Plural Publishing, Inc.
Term of Use: Permission to use the alternate format file shall be valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of request approval. Continued use beyond this term shall require submission and approval of a new request.
Format Provided: Plural Publishing, Inc. provides alternate format materials in PDF format only. The publisher does not guarantee compatibility with all assistive technologies. It is the responsibility of the institution to convert the file into another accessible format if needed, in accordance with applicable accessibility laws and provided that such conversion does not violate the usage restrictions above.
Intellectual Property Rights: Plural Publishing, Inc. retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the requested title and all associated electronic files, including without limitation all copyright and intellectual property rights. The requestor is granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the electronic file solely for the specific purpose and individual identified in the request.
Restrictions on Use: The electronic file may not be reproduced, altered, modified, copied, sold, sublicensed, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, publicly displayed, or otherwise made available—whether for commercial or non-commercial purposes—to any third party, including but not limited to other students with disabilities, faculty, staff, or individuals at the same or any other institution.
File Security: The recipient is responsible for ensuring the security of the electronic file and must take reasonable measures to prevent unauthorized access, duplication, or distribution. Files may not be uploaded to any public or shared digital storage platforms (e.g., Dropbox, Google Drive, institutional LMS) unless access is restricted to the authorized individual.
Revocation of Rights: Plural Publishing, Inc. reserves the right to revoke permission to use the alternate format at any time if the terms and conditions herein are violated. In such cases, the institution may be required to delete all copies of the file and confirm destruction in writing.
Recordkeeping: The requesting institution agrees to retain documentation of all requests submitted on behalf of students or instructors and make such records available to Plural Publishing, Inc. upon reasonable request for verification or audit purposes.
Legal Compliance: Use of the electronic file constitutes agreement by the student, the Disability Services Office, and any other authorized institutional representative to fully comply with the provisions of the United States Copyright Act, as amended (17 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.), and all applicable codes of conduct, accessibility policies, and internal guidelines of the requesting institution.
Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
