Angie Neal

Angie Neal, MS, CCC-SLP, is the Policy Advisor for Speech-Language Services and Early Literacy at the South Carolina State Department of Education. She is a graduate of the ASHA Leadership Development Program, board member with the State Education Agency Communication Disability Council (SEACDC), previous Vice-President for Governmental Affairs with the South Carolina Speech and Hearing Association (SCSHA), previous board member with the SC International Dyslexia Association (SC-IDA), as well as past member of the ASHA School Issues Advisory Board (SIAB). Angie has been the recipient of the Rolland Van Hattum Award for contributions to schools (SC), the Nancy McKinley Award for leadership in SLP (OH), and SC Association of School Psychologists award for Contributions to Education. She has worked as a speech-language pathology assistant and provided SLP services in long-term care, outpatient pediatric, and school-based settings. Angie has also served as an adjunct professor of SLP and has published articles appearing in The ASHA Leader as well as Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools. She enjoys sharing information about SLP and frequently provides professional development on a variety of topics across the United States.
