Rachel K. Powell

Rachel Powell, PhD, CCC-SLP, ASHA Fellow, is a Board-Certified Specialist in Child Language and serves as Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Federal Programs for Brookhaven School District (Brookhaven, Mississippi). She specializes in language development, literacy acquisition, and school-based intervention. A speech-language pathologist with more than 20 years of experience in public education, she received the 2021 ASHFoundation Rolland Van Hattum Award for Contributions in Schools. Dr. Powell has taught university coursework in language, literacy, diagnostics, research, and speech sound disorders and served as the 2025 ASHA Convention Co-Chair.
