Khara Turnbull, PhD, is Research Faculty in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia. Dr. Turnbull previously served as an Education Research Analyst at the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences and has contributed to the development of materials for Core Knowledge Language Arts and the Virginia Language and Literacy Screening System. Dr. Turnbull holds an MT in English as a Second Language and integrates expertise in language development to support multilingual learners.
